History
Our origin
The ancestors of our founder, Álvaro de Alvear, dedicated themselves to the cultivation of vines in Nájera, which today belongs to La Rioja.
At the end of the 17th century, Álvaro de Alvear was assigned to Córdoba and moved to the city of Montilla, where, as his craft was in his blood, he planted vineyards and established his winery in 1729.
This craft has been transmitted from generation to generation until it reached Álvaro de Alvear, who founded our winery in 1999. This was the dream with which he culminated a life dedicated to viticulture and the world of wine.
The Sierra de La Moneda in Mérida, found to be the ideal spot for this project, always gave the vineyard top priority, which led him to buy this farm, surrounded by forest and Mediterranean scrub.
Added to this story is a new generation of the Alvear family, who today continues a tradition of more than 300 years, producing wines in Valdealto with a firm commitment to balance, freshness and elegance.
